50,000 Catholics “Cancelled”

This Weekend, “Cancellation” Really Hit Home

This weekend, I was planning to participate in a  three day Summit organized by Catholic leader Patrick Coffin entitled Truth Over Fear: Covid-19 and the Great Reset.

Scheduled speakers included Medical Doctors, Catholic Clergy, and other experts discussing the conflicting media reports on Covid, Vaccines, Lockdowns, and their connection to the Great Reset.

I had hardly listened to two talks, one by Archbishop Vigano, Pope Benedict’s Nuncio to the United States and Plenary speaker for this conference, and another talk by Dr. Tess on the usefulness of ivermectin in battling Covid, when the Summit suddenly disappeared, “cancelled” midstream by the platform that was hosting this conference of 50,000 + attendees.

If you don’t want to miss this conference, it will be held again at the same time on the same  URL: restoretheculture.com, Friday through Sunday, May 7-9.  Right now the URL, having been de-platformed, doesn’t work.  But you can watch Patrick Coffin’s site for information as the week goes on.

So What Was Big Tech Objecting To and Why Was It Cancelled?

Judge for yourself why the the messages offered by Patrick Coffin’s Summit, the Plenary Speaker Archbishop Vigano, and other Summit participants was apparently too threatening for our “cancel culture” to allow Americans to hear.

Then, register for next weekend’s conference, which should offer a treasury of scientific and moral truth.

Below is Archbishop Vigano’s 25 minute speech audio (quality improves after first minute), and the text of his talk.

Archbishop Vigano’s Talk:

Text of Archbishop Vigano’s Talk:

I am very grateful to Dr. Patrick Coffin for the opportunity that has been given to me to take part in the World Summit, Truth over Fear: Covid 19, the Vaccine, and the Great Reset

As I prepare to speak, I want to greet each of the participants, and bless their commitment in service of the Truth.  Above all, during these hours of great confusion, of the darkening of minds and consciences.

You have certainly taken note of my letter from March 25th, by which I wanted in some way to launch this event, and anticipate the issues, by treating certain of them more articulately.  What I will tell you now, touches on another aspect, and intends, in some way, to complete my previous statement.

The media, politicians, managers of large companies, and even priests and bishops, speak to us obsessively about a connected world in which the faculties of the human body are amplified by a series of technological appendages, which permit us to talk to our automobile, to turn on the living room light by talking to a plastic cylinder, get traffic information from Alexa, order sushi from our cell phone, and know that milk in our refrigerator is getting close to its expiration date.

According to them, this world represents achievement and progress for humanity.  Many of the marvels that await us are already available.  Others are imminent, already invented, and ready to be placed on the market.

Let us imagine for a moment that one of us, by chance, happened to be isolated from all this at the beginning of last year.  Imagine that he decided to retire to a mountain chalet in order to write a book or that he entered a monastery for a period of meditation and prayer.  No television, no newspapers, no social media, no breaking news from his cell phone.  Only the things of nature, the song of birds, the breath of wind, the roar of the mountain stream, the tolling of the bell.

Until the moment, when after more than a year, this fortunate friend concluded his period of isolation, and returned to the world, believing that he would find it just as he left it.

What would this person, who was far away when we were all locked up in our houses, due to the lockdowns imposed by almost every government in the world, find, upon his return?

Well, our friend would discover that while he devoted himself to his novel or to meditation on the Fathers of the Church, the world has literally gone mad.

A flu syndrome, which according to official data, causes almost the same number of deaths among the elderly and the weak people as any other normal seasonal flu, has been used as a pretext to sow terror amidst the population, thanks to the complicity of politicians, the media, doctors, and their law enforcement.

He will see himself surrounded by people wear masks, even outdoors, because someone has said that it will prevent infection.

When he returns to his home town and wants to go shopping, he will find that he is expelled from grocery stores, because he is not wearing that ridiculous muzzle,  and he will not be able to go out to eat at a restaurant without being subjected to a swab test — that happened to me last year)— was indicated as ineffective for diagnostic purposes.

He will hear it said that this pandemic has caused millions of deaths, even if in 2020, in every nation of the world, the number of deaths was basically exactly the same as in preceding years.

And, he will also hear that, because of an influenza virus, that notoriously mutates like any other corona virus, global authorities have purchased billions of doses of vaccines, that are admittedly useless, given that they do not guarantee immunity, and indeed, have serious side effects, which nobody wants to recognize.

Our friend will be disconcerted to learn that at the first outbreak of infection in a remote location in China, instead of blocking flights and contacts with foreign countries, there were those who shouted “racist” and took great care to show solidarity by going to eat shrimp rolls at the local Chinese restaurant with photographers and reporters in tow.

He will learn from the newspaper that many nations, for more than a decade previously, had weakened public health, closed hospitals, and left their pandemic plan out of date.  And he will not understand why effective treatments and home health care have been banned, instead waiting for the infected to get worse, so that they can be hospitalized in intensive care units, and made to die using ventilators for deep breathing.

He will be shocked when they tell him that the dead were deprived of an autopsy, and subjected to cremation without any religious funeral services, as if those who let them die did not want to leave any traces of their misdeeds.

You can imagine how the absurdity of all this sounds incomprehensible for a person who is not bombed daily by terrorist news from the media.  And how incomprehensible is the passivity and resigned obedience of the masses to the dictates of the civil and religious authorities.

Because our friend will discover that also in Church things have changed.  The holy water is no longer there.  The kneelers have disappeared in order to make a place for chairs spaced with signs indicating where to sit, how many persons can enter, and that Communion must be received in the hands for hygienic reasons.

He will learn that not only the parish priests and the bishops have adapted to the collective madness, but they have even made a personal contribution to it.  In some cases, going so far as to require testing swabs and vaccines for those who want to attend services.

They will show him the famous video of Bergoglio all alone in St. Peter’s Square.  Or the interview in which he promotes vaccines as a moral duty.  Even if they are produced with material coming from aborted fetuses.  They will tell him that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith hastened to declare this vaccine morally licit.

When he talks with friends that he has not heard from in more than a year, our friend will learn that they have been forbidden to go out, to gather for holidays, to celebrate Easter and Christmas, to go to Mass, to go to Confession, to receive the Sacraments. That the State has imposed lockdowns and curfews, closing stores and restaurants, museums and gyms, schools and libraries.  Everything closed — for fear of a flu virus that could be cured, that can be cured with treatments that WHO and other experts have prohibited, ordering watchful waiting instead.

And if he asks why no one protested, he will hear that demonstration of dissidence has also been banned and repressed by the police with truncheons.

They will say to him that in some nations, detention centers have been constructed for those who do not want to undergo vaccinations.

Why, an app has been made mandatory  that allows the tracking of citizen movement, and today, the use of subcutaneous microchips is theorized that would detect the positivity of the virus, or act as a vaccine passport.  Thanks to which, it would be possible to travel in a plane, or go to a restaurant.

And all this was possible thanks to the silence of the magistrates.

While anonymous scientific committees bossed everyone around with absurd and ineffective protocols.

Millions of people are confined to house arrest should have reduced the number of infections.  While in reality, the countries in which lockdowns were not imposed have had less death.   Millions of people forced not to work, reduced to misery by illegitimate and unconstitutional decisions, have obeyed.  Awaiting ridiculous (announcements? – audio not clear) that have been promised a thousand times, and never arrive.

Millions, and then billions of people have suffered the decisions of a few so-called philanthropists, who have succeeded in imposing vaccine produced by pharmaceutical companies, for which they are the main shareholders. With the approval of supervisory bodies that they primarily finance.

No conflict of interest, no crime against humanity, no violation of natural liberty and the fundamental rights of citizens.

Everything has gone smoothly.  Like in a dystopian movie.  My dear friends, what our friend is facing is the fantasy world designed by the Great Reset.   By the proponents of the New World Order.  By the followers of the globalist sect.  A trans-human world, in which  algorithms  born from a sick diabolical mind decide if you can leave the house, which treatments should be administered, which activities are allowed to continue, and which people have the right to work.

And while we were imprisoned without bars in our homes,  believing in the maniacal heads on television and social media,  under the cover of darkness, they were installing 5 G towers everywhere, in order to make possible the technological breakthrough that is meant to connect everyone and everything, from the blenders to iPads.  From electric cars to distance learning. With the perpetual obligation of maintaining social distance, and being vaccinated every 6 months, even if things go well, in the name of a pandemic.  (Audio not clear)  is not seen accepting the media narrative and its unfortunate management by politicians and doctors of the regime.

Our friend is not a doctor. But since he has not lived this year and a half  of (audio not clear) delirium bombarded by mainstream news on his TV , computer and cell phone, he is able to grasp the madness of what has happened to all of us, together with the criminal plan that has been perpetrated by the elite.  Nor would it escape him, as it has not escaped us, that the Catholic hierarchy has played a role in imposing the official narrative, using the authority of the Church, to ratify a monstrous lie, a colossal fraud, against both God and man.

If we made a comparison between how we lived in January of 2020 and how we have been reduced to living today, we cannot fail to recognize the success of this infernal plan, accepted by the majority of people, as unavoidable.

There are those who, unable to accept the intrinsic irrationality of the provision adopted by their rulers, suspend all judgment, and hand themselves over to their executioner.  Others try to find a supernatural meaning, in collective madness, pray God for the end of our nonexistent plague, or adapt to the new pain and (and legitimacy of Covid? – audio not clear).  Still others, more combative, are unable to resign themselves to the monstrosity of what is happening, and hope for a Divine intervention.

If only we had the good sense to think autonomously, to use the rationality with which we have been endowed by the Eternal Father, we would immediately understand that this horror is nothing but the world turned upside down, that is the desire by the eternal Enemy of the human race, the hell on earth longed for by the servant of Satan, the new infernal order that is the prelude or the advent of the antichrist and the end times.

Only in this way, we will be able to understand the apostasy of the highest level of the Church, all taken to in proof of obedience of the globalist ideology, to the point of denying Christ on the cross, and preferring the heavy chains of Lucifer to the gentle yoke of Christ.

If there is a Great Reset that humanity really needs, this can only come in the return to God, in the true conversion of individuals and of society to Christ the King, which for too long we have allowed to be dethroned in the name of perverse freedom which permits and legitimizes everything except the Good.

That Great Reset was accomplished on Golgotha.  In the moment in which Satan believed that he was putting the Son of God to death, and preventing the Redemption, while in reality, he was signing his own definitive defeat.

What we are witnessing today, is only a painful after effect of the battle between Christ and Satan, between the offspring of the Woman clothed with light, of whom the Book of Revelation speaks, and the accursed offspring of the ancient serpent.

Thus, as we approach the persecution of the End Times,  we have the supernatural certainty that even this grotesque pandemic, a miserable pretext for the establishment of anti-human and anti- Christic synergy, is doomed to defeat — because Christ has already conquered the eternal defeated one with a crushing and inexorable victory.

Strengthened by the certainty of this epochal victory, whose time will we see perhaps very soon, we must find under the banner of Christ the King and the protection of the Queen of Victories, whom the Lord has given the power to crush the head of the Evil One.

If we return to Christ beginning with ourselves and our families, we will succeed not only in opening our eyes to understand the absurdity of what is happening around us, but we will also know how to effectively fight with the invincible weapons of Faith.

Quoniam omne quod natum est ex Deo vincit mundum et haec est victoria quae vincit mundum fides nostra

                        – 1John 5:4

For whoever is begotten by God conquers the world. And the victory that conquers the world is our faith.

Then, the new Tower of Babel, the house of cards of Covid, the farce of the vaccines, and the fraud of the Great Reset, will inexorably collapse, manifesting it’s diabolic nature, the murderous plan of the Adversary and his servants.

Let us look to the New Jerusalem that descends from Heaven, the Holy Church, which in the vision of St. John appears like a bride adorned for her husband.  Let us listen to the loud voice that announces, “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain, because the former things have passed away.”

Our Great Reset is accomplished in Our Lord.  “Behold, I make all things new.  I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end.”
May the entire heavenly court assist and protect us in this epochal battle in which it is our glory to serve under insignia of Christ the King and Mary our Queen.

May God bless you.

What Happens Now?

What Happens Now?

The question on many people’s minds, following the tumultuous and unexpected political events of recent weeks, is What Happens Now?

Speaking for Conservatives

I am only in a position to speak for conservatives, since any alternative mindset is alien to me at this point.
In a culture which pushes the dismemberment of our infants, alteration of human gender, and an abandonment of all modesty and justice, there is no longer any fixed ground on which a reasonable person can stand.

We conservatives definitely feel now, that after suffering numerous years of unjust assault from the extreme left, and after an equal number of years on our part of diligent hard work, prayer and sacrifice, trying to steer our culture and our nation back in a healthier and more Godly direction, that an election has just been stolen by unscrupulous players who have been setting up the scam for decades, and who have thwarted the will of the majority of the American people.

Note: The objections of the left, and their attempts to sue and “cancel” any mention of “stolen” election are quickly defused by the fact that the Supreme Court has just agreed to consider at least 6 cases involving 2020 Election Challenge.
Anyone interested in the details of the fraud that has occurred can read
the Navarro Report.

From Bad to Worse

To make matters worse, all discussion of the Grand Theft of the 2020 Election has been “cancelled.” Major news networks refuse to discuss the massive election fraud on their programs, and bulldoze their fear-of-litigation policies on any guest who dares to mention election fraud.  Recently even the very conservative NewsMax network tried to demolish Mike Lindell (the “Pillow Guy”), who was “cancelled” by Twitter, and who dared to mention election fraud on NewsMax Television.

The election was stolen, and the left is emboldened and openly proud of their accomplishment.

Most recently, TIME magazine has published an article in which the left actually brags about a “conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes” which was orchestrated secretly to steal the election.  Of course, TIME magazine portrays the leftist conspiracy very favorably, as a clever mechanism to save America from a Trump Presidency.
In actual fact, they have documented very accurately how the an election was stolen from the people of the United States by a group of elitist leftists who felt they knew better what was good for the nation. The ends justify the means in the world of the left.  Conspiracy (their word) to manipulate an election is portrayed as a good thing for the people whose votes were eradicated.

Glenn Beck voices many of our frustrations with the left“This is one of the most incredibly frustrating things about the Left in America today. The Left insists there is no such thing as absolute truth, while simultaneously insisting there are certain approved truths that are undeniable.”

Let’s Remember

We should remind ourselves that as Americans, our political journey has been unpredictable and bumpy —  from our nation’s inception in 1776, through today.
Righteous Americans have been determined, they have been courageous, and they have placed their trust in God while facing countless obstacles and fighting numerous battles against forces which have challenged democracy, decency, and justice.

Today, as we face the political assaults of 2021, some of us are tempted to falter, to fear, and to despair. Confidence can waver,  courage can erode, and hope can wither.
Some fear and even forecast apocalyptic events, forgetting that every generation has faced global challenges, that even successful wars have included defeats in battle, and that the present situation, whether quite routine in the perspective of global history, or whether in fact leading up to some climactic apocalypse, is ultimately in the hands of God.

Coincidental Reading?

Not surprisingly, the first reading at Mass on the last Friday  of January elegantly addressed this perennial human dilemma which we frequently face when confronted with an evil against which we feel powerless.  Our young priest last Friday also gave an amazing sermon springing off this reading, which the Catholic Church assigns in a 3 year cycle of readings from the Bible during Mass.  Our priest helped put into perspective our never ending struggle and how we can face it with strength and with joy.

The Reading:  Hebrews 10:32-39

In this reading, Hebrew Christians who were being subjected to much suffering are encouraged:

Do not throw away your confidence. It will have a great reward.

Remember the days past when, after you had been enlightened, you endured a great contest of suffering. At times you were publicly exposed to abuse and affliction; at other times you associated yourselves with those so treated. You even joined in the sufferings of those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, knowing that you had a better and lasting possession. Therefore, do not throw away your confidence; it will have great recompense. You need endurance to do the will of God and receive what he has promised.

For, after just a brief moment,

 he who is to come shall come;

 he shall not delay.

But my just one shall live by faith,

and if he draws back I take no pleasure in him.

We are not among those who draw back and perish, but among those who have faith and will possess life.

What Does This Reading Say?

In this reading, the Hebrew Christians are reminded of their sufferings in the past.

Next, the remedy is outlined, which for those who are not Christian, is counter intuitive:

Associate yourselves with those who are publicly exposed to abuse and affliction.
Join in the sufferings of those in prison.
Joyfully accept the confiscation of your property.
Know that you have a better and lasting possession.
Do not throw away your confidence, it will have great recompense.

Hebrews 10 also includes a promise, quoting the Psalms:

For, after just a brief moment,
he who is to come shall come; he shall not delay.

What Does This Have to Do With Today?

The reading and the homily immediately brought to my mind our political moral struggles and frustrations today, which are very worrisome and threatening to all conservatives, and all religious people, as the emboldened left forces on all of us their immoral agenda.

The reading provides some guidelines for us on how to act in alarming times, and with whom we should align ourselves.

What Position Do We Take Regarding President Trump?
Should We Lay Low or Dash to His Defense?

Those who have read my blog previously, particularly in the early days of President Trump’s election and during his first term, may remember that I was hesitant in my support of Donald Trump, due to his checkered past, particularly his previous support of abortion.

I wondered whether his campaign promises were genuine, representing a Christian conversion, or whether he was simply lying like many politicians, trying to get my vote.
My blog articles included graphics with Donald Trump wearing a halo, and/or horns.
I asked whether Donald Trump could possibly be a courageous convert like St. Paul, a knight on a white horse arriving to the White House to lead us back passionately to Constitutional and Christian values?

The Conversion of “Saint” Donald

Did Donald Trump undergo a passionate conversion to Constitutional and Christian values before running for President?
Now, 5 years after Donald Trump campaigned for President, it has become clear that he most certainly does have a passionate  dedication to our American and religious values.

President Trump proved over the course of  his Presidency that he was indeed a courageous convert like St. Paul, passionately devoted to Christian values and to the American Constitution which was based on those Christian values.
President Trump fought for and risked as much for American Christian values as any of our founders, including George Washington. He has been the most pro-Life President in our history, his anti-human trafficking office had incredible impact. Incidentally, billionaire Trump lost  nearly half of his net worth during his Presidency, doing these things for America.  And he’s still not quitting on America.

AMAC (Association of Mature American Citizens, a conservative alternative to AARP) has named President Donald J. Trump AMAC’s 2020 Man of the Year.  AMAC says:

“Not only has Trump succeeded in making America great again by bringing back jobs and restoring the economy, but he also secured peace in the Middle East and guided America through an unprecedented pandemic and turbulent times.  Despite being challenged by the media and the left who sought to destroy his reputation, the President did not waver.  Instead, he stood his ground, and in the face of many storms, proceeded to move forward to uphold principles of goodwill and justice.”

In return for his tireless courage and dedication, he was attacked, maligned and misrepresented by vicious opponents, and betrayed by many in his own party. We will never know whether  those numerous  betrayals were fueled by cowardice and fear of the far left, or whether our system of government is so infiltrated by treasonous agents that there seems to be no end of new betrayals, even now after four years.

Because of the sacrifices President Trump made, the Truth that he spoke, the unjust attacks that he suffered, and the betrayals he bore, President Trump is now in many minds not only a candidate for status among our greatest leaders in history, but also a candidate for sainthood for his defense of Christianity, justice, and defense of Life.

Because of this I, together with as many as 80 million Americans, view President Trump as a valiant warrior fighting for the restoration of Constitutional and Christian values to America.

The Contrast

In contrast, President Tump’s replacement in the White House today, Joe Biden, is clearly intent on eradicating Constitutional and Christian values.

35 Nations have declared that there is no international right to abortion, but now there are only 34 —  “Catholic”  Joe Biden has removed the United States from that list.

The new administration is viciously and desperately doing their utmost to gag, incapacitate and destroy Christians and patriots and to impose on our nation by force the Machiavellian values they hold, under which the powerful elites are entitled to do anything they deem necessary to achieve their own goals, and are in no way limited by the Constitution of the United States or by Judeo-Christian accountability to God and their fellow man.

To the Left, the only thing that matters is their experimental self-serving narrative, not whether it’s True or good for our nation.

Like the Christian Hebrews

Our situation is very parallel to the dilemma suffered by the Christian Hebrews.
Today, like the Christian Hebrews, WE (primarily President Trump, and we 80 million Americans) are enduring a great contest of suffering
WE are publicly exposed to abuse and affliction for our Judeo Christian values.
WE are in danger of imprisonment and or confiscation of our property. (Ask General Mike Flynn.  Ask Parler CEO John Matze. )
Above all, ask President Trump what he has personally been subjected to for the past 5 years.

The Left Is Not Finished

The left is clearly not finished with President Trump yet.

Following his departure from the White House, contrary to the Constitution, contrary to the judgement of  the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court who is refusing to show up, the left is still trying to impeach (remove from office) a President who is no longer in office.

The left shows no signs of relenting in their persecution of President Trump (or of all conservatives).
They are “canceling” him by every means available, starting with cutting him off social media like Twitter and Facebook.  Banks are shutting their doors on President Trump.  He is being treated unconstitutionally, being falsely accused, “convicted” without evidence or trial, discriminated against, marginalized, and spied upon.

And What Do We Do? What Happens Now?
What Happens Next?

What happens next?
As indicated in the Letter to the Hebrews:

We do not throw away our confidence.
It will have a great reward.
We are not among those who draw back and perish, but among those who have faith and will possess life.

We have to stand behind, defend and assist our valiant President Trump.
(Many of us choke at the idea of addressing Joe Biden, “winner” of the stolen election, as President.)

We do not support any form of violent or illegal insurrection, but we wholeheartedly support a legal, prayerful, constitutional insurrection aimed at restoring the will of the American people to it’s government.

We believe absolutely that good God-fearing people, with the assistance of God Almighty (as well as the assistance of leftists who periodically shoot themselves in the foot) can prevail.

How Do We Do This?

We do NOT do what the opposition, what Antifa and BLM do.
We do NOT routinely riot, cheat, or violate the rules of our Constitution or of our God on principle. (The brief Jan 6 riot was an exception, not the rule, and included at least two members of Antifa.)

Again, from Hebrews 10:32-39:

We associate ourselves with those who are publicly exposed to abuse and affliction.
We join in the sufferings of those in prison.
We joyfully accept the confiscation of our property.
We know that we have a better and lasting possession.
We do not throw away our confidence, it will have great recompense

We Associate Ourselves with Those Who are Publicly Exposed to Abuse and Affliction

Yes, we have to associate ourselves with President Trump and defend him.
And with General Flynn, and anyone else whom the browbeaters of the left have attacked.
We publicly stand up for our Church, her teachings, and her guidelines.
We stand up for Truth.
We stand up for Life.

What Specifically, Can We Do?

To get ideas on what WE ought to do, let’s look at some great patriots and Christians who stood up for Truth and/or  for President Trump in recent weeks:

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) in the East Room of the White House on Feb. 6, 2020.

Guidelines for Action

Drawing from the above examples of courageous action by others, we should all resolve to participate in the pushback that will bring us victory in the end.

First of all , ABOVE ALL, pray!
PRAY, PRAY, and PRAY more.

We can also keep ourselves informed.  See the Trustworthy Media news links below. Tune into, or listen to the recorded free Lifesite online conference on Truth about the Great Reset and Vaccines scheduled for Friday, February 19, 2021.
The title is Unmasking COVID-19: Vaccines, Mandates, and Global Health
We can support conservative media outlets and social media which have not yet been cancelled. Support LifeSite News and Epoch Times.
We can support all who are being “cancelled” by the left — starting with President Trump. Also Epoch Times, demonetized by You TubeSarah Huchabeee Sanders and other Trump supporters, who are being “cancelled” by ForbesLou Dobbs, and ardent Trump supporter, has been cancelled by Fox News Business, the day after they were sued by Smartmatic, which has been accused of participation in massive election fraud.
We must be prepared to take risks ourselves.  Even if we get “cancelled” ourselves, there are 80 million others ready to continue the job. We have an endless supply of courageous and righteous patriots.  If we risk nothing now, we deserve whatever we get in the future.
We can encourage our State legislators to push back on the immoral policies coming out of Washington D.C.
We can pressure our representatives in Washington to uphold a moral agenda — 48 Senators have just promised to oppose any bill that funds abortion.  Let’s reward them, write to praise them, contribute to them, and ask for more restoration of Judeo-Christian values to America.
We can pray that our more of our religious leaders continue to push for freedom of religion and for Life with their statements, tweets, videos, and homilies.
We can pray that our religious leaders help to clarify for us faithful the battles that lie ahead, and to encourage us to help in pushing back against immoral administrations.  We desperately need clarification on conflicting messages that are coming from conflicting Bishops and even conflict with the Vatican.
Boycotting certain tech giants such as Twitter, Facebook, You Tube, and others, is an individual call.  While it is good to take our support and our dollars away from some of these despots, it is also good to use their services, as Bishop Strickland and others do, to spread opposition to the left agenda and to speak Truth.
We can use social media to our advantage — boldly and unapologetically post our views on Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Gab………    Tweet and retweet conservative messages.

Trustworthy Media

Now that much media has become completely untrustworthy, and some previously reliable sources of conservative viewpoint such as Fox News and News Max have been compromised, we can seek new places in the media where we can find our news.
Below is list of possibilities to explore.  I cannot vouch for any of them blindly, and some even tend towards sensationalism, but with a prudent and cautious eye, we can get a great deal of useful information from the following:

THE EPOCH TIMES
BREITBART NEWS
LIFESITE NEWS
CNS NEWS
ONE AMERICA NEWS NETWORK
ASSOCIATION OF MATURE AMERICAN CITIZENS (AMAC) (to replace leftist AARP)
CONSERVATIVE BRIEF
JUST THE NEWS
BANNON’S WAR ROOM
POPULIST PRESS

Some Media, like FOX NEWS, may not longer be completely reliable.  FOX News Business recently cancelled  Lou Dobbs, an ardent Trump supporter, the day after they were sued by Smartmatic, which has been accused of participation in massive election fraud.  FOX News, as well as NEWSMAX, no longer broadcast anything to do with Election Fraud.

Trustworthy Social Media

Instead of using Twitter, you can sign up on GAB, and you can follow President Donald Trump on GAB.  Get your news from the horse’s mouth.  Many conservatives purged by Twitter are flocking to GAB.

President Trump is planning his own reemergence on social media— it is still not clear whether he will join an existing platform, or whether he will create his own platform.  When he decides, JOIN IT and stay informed.

Use search engines such as SwissCows, rather than Google, which alters the search results that you are given to benefit the left.  Searches made with SwissCows often give different results than searches with Google.

Examine Carefully All Issues Pushed Fervently by the Left

Keep an open mind about all the issues the left is presently pushing — that would include COVID restrictions and immunizations, climate change, globalism, unlimited and undocumented immigration and other issues.

Many extremely reputable world leaders, political and religious, believe that serious issues like these are  being hijacked and misrepresented by the left in a way that frightens people and benefits the left politically.

We have recently all been quite surprised at the depth and extent of the “deep state” in our government, which is motivated not by the well-being of the American people, but by their own political and economic advancement.

Now serious religious leaders like Archbishop Vigano are openly stating that the Catholic Church is infiltrated by globalists.  We cannot dismiss a man who was the Apostolic Nuncio of Pope Benedict to the United States and who has been backed by numerous other respectable leaders (like Arch bishop Burke, Bishop Strickland, Bishop Morlino (who published a letter vouching for his character), Scott Hahn, and others) — we cannot dismiss the claims of such a respected religious leader without investigating his claims.

We Have To Take Risks

The bottom line is that we must all, each and every one of us, be prepared to take some risks, to support President Trump, and the Constitutional and Christian agenda that he established in order to Make America Great Again.

If we are not prepared to take risks, we are certain to lose the battle.

If you wonder why the stealing of the 2020 election was even possible, the mistake many of us made in 2016 was  to think that one man can clean up Washington.  That man is just a figurehead, a representation of what we all want.  We are the army that backs him, and defends him when the enemy has temporarily prevailed against him.
If we don’t get seriously involved now, we will not only get cancelled permanently ourselves, but our entire nation will get cancelled, democracy will get cancelled, and communism will be installed in its place.

When people talk about conscience rights, and conscience rights extending beyond the Church parking lot, they usually mean that we are allowed to express our consciences not only in Church, but also in civic life and in politics.  Today, we have to go much further than that — now we have not only conscience rights beyond the Church parking lot, but conscience obligations past the Church parking lot.

All that we do now, or that we fail to do now will determine the life of future generations, just as our freedoms were earned by patriots and Christians since the establishment of our nation.

PATRIOTISM

Archbishop Fulton Sheen was  Bishop in New York City during my childhood there.  He was famous as a theologian, and also for his radio and television evangelization.  My grandma used to love watching his program during the 1950’s and 1960’s in New York.

He has long been a favorite of mine, and below, his thoughts on PATRIOTISM are as timeless and eerily applicable right now today, during this American election, as they were during Bishop Sheen’s time in New York.

Archbishop Sheen’s dramatic flair and humor made his presentations very popular and enjoyable, and drew record crowds and viewers, in addition to being simply brilliant and sublime.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City

Archishop Sheen’s sermons routinely drew 6,000 people to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, and his television appearances competed with Milton Berle and Frank Sinatra.  On Good Friday, his sermons were broadcast outdoors to the thousands standing outside St. Patrick’s, since there was not enough room for all in the Cathedral.

Astonishingly Perceptive Wisconsin State Journal Article Portrays Bishop Morlino in 2004

Treasures in My Basement
****

**
Not being much of a newspaper clipper, nor information hoarder, I was surprised to unearth several treasures in my basement, including notes I took at a Future Society meeting addressed by Bishop Morlino and a Wisconsin State Journal article which introduced Bishop Morlino to Madison almost exactly fifteen years ago, on February 15th, 2004, about six months after his arrival in Madison.

The front page Sunday article was remarkably positive, surprisingly perceptive, and provides one very elegant bookend to Bishop Morlino’s life here with us in Madison for the past 15 years, so I had to share.

**
The Wisconsin State Journal article began with several striking headlines:

**

MORLINO: CONFRONTING SECULARISM IN MADISON

DIOCESE HAS NEVER HAD A BISHOP LIKE MORLINO

HE WADES INTO CONTROVERSY, BUT HE IS TOLERANT OF THOSE WHO DISAGREE WITH HIM.

*

Bishop Morlino’s address to the World Future Society was one of his early encounters with secular Madison and was entitled “The Future of Religion.” It was presented at Fluno Hall on the University of Wisconsin Madison campus.  Bishop Morlino pointed out during that address that Democracy maximizes individual freedom and minimizes restraint by the government.  Thus it requires free self-restraint, which makes sense only in a religious framework.  Government ought to favor authentic religion– when self-restraint under God is promoted, the government has less restraining to do.  Religion, therefore, must have a future if democracy is to have a future.
In hindsight now in 2019 with Antifa type disorder rampant, this prediction by Bishop Morlino made 15 years ago (in 2003) comes across particularly inspired.

**

Hoping to share the nostalgic Wisconsin State Journal article with fellow Catholics who are mourning our loss of Bishop Morlino on November 24, 2018, I rushed to Wisconsin State Journal archives to find the link to this old article  — only to find that in order to see anything more detailed than the fuzzy 2×2 inch image of the whole front page, readers had to subscribe to the Wisconsin State Journal($19.99/month).

This inspired me to photograph, transcribe, and share excerpts of my newspaper clipping with my family and friends here below, with some occasional commentary.

The Wisconsin State Journal front page Sunday article from February 15, 2004:

MORLINO: CONFRONTING SECULARISM IN MADISON

DIOCESE HAS NEVER HAD A BISHOP LIKE MORLINO

HE WADES INTO CONTROVERSY, BUT HE IS TOLERANT OF THOSE WHO DISAGREE WITH HIM.

By William R. Wineke
Wisconsin State Journal

Six months after becoming spiritual leader of 265,000 Roman Catholics in southern Wisconsin, Robert Morlino is proving to be a bishop far different from any the Madison Catholic Diocese has seen before.

He is at once more self-assured and, paradoxically, more humble than any of his predecessors, more willing to engage in public controversy on behalf of his church and more tolerant of those who disagree, a man who seems at ease with himself, his values and his abilities.

He also begins his leadership of the diocese at a time when trends in the church that have been occurring for years are reaching crisis proportions. His priests are getting older and there are a few replacements in the pipeline. The result is that each pastor serves an increasing number of parishioners each year, parishes are being merged and ongoing scandals in the church at large are testing the faith of Catholics locally.

Perhaps his biggest challenge, however, is confronting what Morlino sees as a pervasive secularism in Madison.

Morlino said his first six months here have convinced him of the necessity for dialogue with the outside culture.

“Madison has to face all the challenges of secularism,“ he said. “I think the challenge in Madison is to enter into dialogue with the culture that is secular. To strengthen people’s faith requires some flexibility and versatility.“

He says he is somewhat surprised by the extent of the secular culture here and by what he perceives as a split between the culture of Madison and of the rest of the 11-county diocese.

“I knew it theoretically before I came here, but I didn’t realize how strong that culture is,” he said.

He does much of his teaching through his column in the diocesan newspaper, The Catholic Herald.

In a recent column dealing with the referendum on expanding gambling at Madison’s DeJope  bingo hall, Morlino put the whole issue into the reference of the cities alleged secularism. He said it is hard to argue against gambling in the city that welcomes abortion and the production of anti-Catholic plays, such as “Corpus Christi,“ a play that portrays Jesus and his disciples as gay. A national organization, America needs Fatima, has organized a protest against its performance, which is scheduled for March 5-27 at the Bartell  Theater.

“The kind of community we are seems to indicate a high comfort level with virtually no public morality,“ he said.

But, he asked, “is that really the kind of community we want to be in the Diocese of Madison and in the state of Wisconsin looking into the future?“

His column reported in the front page story in the Wisconsin State Journal, elicited responses of both support and outrage.

Both the State Journal’s and the Capital Times’ editorial pages criticized Morlino‘s position, and Capital Times columnist (Aside from Syte: calumnist?😂) Doug Moe wrote a piece on the newspaper’s front page taking the Bishop to task. The common thread in the editorial response was that Morlino hasn’t lived here long enough to pass judgment.

Those who argue with him tend to do so from the perspective that in a pluralistic society, secular values of open-mindedness should prevail.

The State Journal’s editorial page, for example, has been barraged with letters supporting and opposing Morlino. Philip Keillor, a Madison activist with a history of working with the poor, noted the city’s hard work in providing shelter for the homeless and suggested “moral minimums in our community seem to be developed on issues when there is enough agreement to ‘make it happen’ and those who remain uninvolved either accept or don’t strongly oppose controversial activities.

And the Rev. E. Ellwood Carey, retired pastor of Parkside Presbyterian Church, suggested there is “nothing in Christian scriptures that reveals Jesus’ sexuality, so a word of caution regarding assumptions is appropriate.“

Many Catholic readers, on the other hand, argue that a Bishop’s letter to the people of his diocese should not be read as an allegation of immorality on the part of non-believers.

Mary Weisensel, Sun Prairie, a Catholic laywoman  long active in church causes, noted that “a closer examination of the bishops column in our diocesan newspaper reveals that he cast no stones, he only sought to help us think through a moral issue. That’s what bishops are supposed to do…”

What the flap demonstrates more than anything is that Morlino does not duck controversy. His recurring theme is that there is an “objective public morality, a moral truth.“

In Thursday’s column, for example, he said “our freedom is accountable to the moral truth and, as I have written so many times, the fact that something is done freely does not make it morally right, that should be obvious.“

He use the column to criticize the Super Bowl performance, in which the singer Janet Jackson’s bodice was ripped off to reveal one of her breasts during the nation’s most watched television event. He also commented on reducing love to its “sensual dimensions,“ adding that the “ongoing effort to assert into the civic life of our country and our culture the right to redefine marriage“ is “certainly not among the inalienable rights conferred upon each human person according to the mind of our nation’s architects from the beginning.“

Morlino, 57, who succeeded Bishop William Bullock last August, is the fourth Bishop to serve the 11-county Madison Catholic Diocese.

He is a native of Pennsylvania, the only child of a Scranton couple. His mother died when he was a teenager.

Morlino was ordained a Jesuit priest in 1974. He holds a bachelors degree in philosophy from Fordham University, a masters degree in philosophy from the University of Notre Dame and a doctorate in moral theology from the Gregorian University in Rome.

He is a large enthusiastic man who appears to enjoy company, love sports and doesn’t like being bound by rigid schedules. He doesn’t talk “down“ to people – which means, also, that he expects people to be able to hold their own when they speak with him.

He had a diocese that was formed in 1946 and was led, successively, by bishops William O’Connor, who served from 1946 to 1967, Cletus O’Donnell, who served from 1967 to 1992 and Bullock, who served until 2003.

If their tenures could be described by a single word – none would wish to be so described — O’Connor was a builder; O’Donnell was a national leader, Bullock was an administrator and Morlino is a teacher.

Audio for many of Bishop Morlino’s homilies is available at the Cathedral Parish Media Archive – click above text for link and search “Morlino.”

He seems perfectly willing to challenge a society he thinks is too secular and seems to have no questions about his ability to do so. However Morlino also insists on respect for those who disagree. He says that, in dialogue with the secular world, he is convinced that “the truth wins out by its own gentle power.“

Morlino writes long pastoral letters each Thursday in the Catholic Herald, on subjects ranging from support for the controversial orders of LaCrosse Bishop Raymond Burke (now Archbishop of St. Louis) on giving Communion to legislators who support abortion, to analysis of the best-selling novel “The DaVinci Code,“ to Marian devotions.

Lorraine Endres of Waunakee, a Catholic laywoman who says she hopes to be considered a good Catholic but who is not known as an activist, says most of what she knows about her new Bishop comes from his pastoral letters.

“I haven’t met him personally, but I think he’s going to be good for the diocese,“ she said. “He’s pro-life and he lets people know it. I read his column in the Herald every week and it’s easy to understand where he’s coming from. He’s down to earth and he lets people know what he thinks.“

Morlino confronted his Priests with a tightly reasoned multi-page letter on changes in Catholic worship having to do with confession and First Communion and, when asked by some priests for a simpler version they could share with their parishioners, he replied that cutting it down to five pages was as far as he could justifiably go.

If Morlino expects his priests to bone up on their theology, however, he has also scored points with those same priests by announcing he won’t even read unsigned letters complaining about them.

“I think he brings a great deal of renewed optimism to the diocese,“ said the Rev. Felix Oehrlein, pastor of Saint Cecilia Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells. “He’s been very affirming. At our recent gathering of priests, he had a town-hall meeting, sat down with us for a couple of hours and just anyone who had something to say to stand up and say it. He wasn’t defensive about anything.”

At the same time, Morlino has spent comparatively little time on administering the diocese, something Bullock prided himself as doing.

During his first six months as Madison‘s bishop, he travel to other states for days and weeks at a time, sometimes to for fill commitments he made before arriving here, sometimes to take a few days off.

In an interview with the state journal, Morlino said it’s all a matter of emphasizing a bishop’s talents.

“There are bishops who hover with their investment officers and develop financial strategies,“ he said. “No one would be more useless at that than me. There are lay people with far more financial skills than I have and I think we ought to let them use those skills for the good of the church.“

Much of the work of actually administering the diocese has fallen to his vicar general, or second in command, Monsignor Paul Swain (Aside from Syte: now Bishop of  Sioux Falls) who, nevertheless, says Morlino has brought a sense of zest to the office.

Morlino may have best explained his concepts of personal strengths in a talk to diocesan young people recently in Wisconsin Dells.

Comparing life to jigsaw puzzle, Morlino said, “I can’t go anywhere I want. Every piece is fitted to occupy a certain spot. I know I have strengths and weaknesses and if I don’t like my strengths and weaknesses, if I don’t accept them, there is no joy.”

Morlino stunned his staff at the Bishop O’Connor Pastoral Center by giving each person two weeks off over the Christmas season. Those who had to work to keep the facility running were told to take extra vacation time later in the year.

Telling his staff to take more time off also has its pastoral side, Morlino suggested.

“Our culture really does need to slow down,“ he said. “What drives it is the materialism of our age. If you’re never satisfied with what you have, there’s only one way to get more and that is to work longer hours and that has its effect on all sorts of other values.“

As for himself, Morlino confessed, “I know I don’t make my best decisions when I’m overtired.“

Morlino raised some eyebrows locally when, shortly after being installed as Bishop, he joined a group of abortion opponents in a march to an abortion clinic, where he recited the rosary.

People weren’t surprised that he opposes abortion – all Catholic bishops do – but his predecessors hadn’t been involved in public marches.

Perhaps more telling than Morlino‘s participation, however, was his admonition to his fellow marchers to love their opponents.

“When someone is promoting error, that error has to be corrected, of course,“ Morlino said then. “But the person promoting the error never loses that dignity and sacredness of the human person.“

Morlino said that’s just basic Catholic teaching.

He applied the same judgment to politicians who may not conform to church teachings.

“I can’t judge the heart of an individual, but, objectively, those who hold public office and are in public positions have to be challenged, not only for the good of their souls and the state of their own faith,“ he said, adding that if politicians “publicly promote things we can’t abide by, that becomes sinful for them and scandalous for the Catholic community.“

The issue, Morlino continued, isn’t that politicians must take orders from the church, but they must live up to their own vocations.

Morlino’s strong stance on social and moral issues seems to be popular with his fellow Catholics, many of whom are writing to the newspapers in support of him.
Within his church, Morlino has been most controversial in Baraboo, where the pastor of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Reverend Gerald Vosen, was accused of sexual improprieties and was removed from office last September.

The man Vosen is accused of abusing denies the allegations (they were made by the man’s sister), but Morlino and the diocesan body charged with investigating sexual abuse charges have neither confirmed the charges nor returned Vosen to his pulpit. Morlino suggested, obliquely, that other allegations may have been made.

At any rate, Saint Joseph parishioners– and even pastors of Protestant congregations in Baraboo – have protested and marched against what they perceive to be Morlino’s inaction.

Morlino scoffs at the one-word descriptions of Bishop’s records cited above.

“I don’t think of myself as coming to leave a mark,“ he said. “I think the bishop should do what the church wants him to do and that is to try to create an environment in which every person, every day, is invited to meet Christ, risen from the dead, in a gentle and kind the way.“ He added: “I am not the Messiah and things may go awry. But, the gifts I have, I will use. If it turns out later that I have left a mark so be it.“

“I am not the Messiah and things may go awry. But, the gifts I have, I will use. If it turns out later that I have left a mark so be it.“ – Bishop Morlino

Bishop Morlino has certainly made a very positive and very remarkable mark in Madison, and his mark includes:

40 new priests
30 seminarians
Perpetual Adoration Chapel in Madison (well know by Faithful Catholics to generate priestly vocations)
New St. Paul’s Campus Catholic Center at UW Madison (preserving the faith of our youth and generating numerous vocations)
Opening discussion of relativism and the importance of moral truth
Courageous defense of life and marriage
Opposition to embryonic stem cell research
Clarification of Church teaching on controversial issues like immigration
Willingness to take strong stands on protecting victims of clerical sexual abuse, both in his own Diocese, and all the way up to supporting Archbishop Vigano’s calls for Papal transparency.

A Very Different Christmas

Christmas will be very different this year in Madison, with the loss of our very beloved Bishop Morlino on November 24, 2018 , and the emptiness left in our hearts by the departure of our courageous Shepherd and Father.

***

Bishop is Enjoying Christmas!

But we rise above the sorrow and the sense of loss with the knowledge that our beloved Bishop, where he now is, is enjoying the love and beauty he taught us about, and is actually in a position to help us all more, both collectively as a Diocese, and individually as members of his flock.

“Apostle of Purgatory”

And yes,  Bishop Morlino, who has been called by some the “Apostle of Purgatory,” might be the first to correct me and to check his “canonization” on which I have just embarked.  But please allow this member of the Bishop’s  flock to point out that he is sure to be treated with the same love, gentleness and mercy by God that he exhibited himself to all of us while he was here.
Just in case, to cover our bases, we will keep our beloved Bishop in our prayers, but I, for one, believe that our very good and courageous Bishop is already in a very good position to watch over us and intercede for us, close to Christ and His Blessed Mother, whom our Bishop so loved.
May Bishop Morlino be enjoying right now that vision that does not disappoint.

Understanding the Epic Divide

The Divide

The very obvious epic divide between right and left in our nation, along with any discussion of unification or bridging of that divide, necessitates defining and understanding the world views projected by the right and by the left, and then searching for common ground.

This article seeks not to malign or denigrate any group.
In fact, we begin here with the presupposition that good Americans on both sides truly want what is best for our country, and are passionate about pursuing that good.

The problem comes in defining what is desirable and what is good.

The key to overcoming the divide is reason and understanding.
Also, the best way to defeat your enemy is to make him your friend.

Surprising Issue Surfaces- a Possible Clue?

One of the major issues that reflect this divide is the hot-button issue of abortion, which, for the first time in this election, took center stage at the Presidential debates. Quite frankly, in this writer’s opinion, the very grisly partial birth abortion may have been the straw that broke Hillary Clinton’s back in the 2016 Presidential Election. Trump deftly showcased to America Hillary’s cold and rigid position on the killing of a partially born human child. Although certainly not the only issue at stake, abortion is certainly a highly charged and very emotional issue on both sides.

Abortion has, after decades of being relegated to an unimportant “social” issue, bubbled up to the top of the conservative’s priority list, and continues to be a big priority for both sides – not only for Progressives like Hillary, who have been vocal all along on the essential nature of abortion to their platform, but also for the future Trump Administration.

In a mind-blowing first, one of the first actions of the 115th Congress last week was to release a report on the sanctity and dignity of human life, and on the revelations of wrongdoing by Planned Parenthood, particularly in their sale of fetal body parts. To add to the surprise, the report came from a very unexpected source — from the Select Investigative Panel of the Energy and Commerce Committee – from which one would more likely expect reports on fracking or trade, NOT on the sanctity of life or on Planned Parenthood. See the remarkable commentary by John Stonestreet at Breakpoint. Clearly, the Trump administration is prioritizing the issue of abortion from a remarkably different perspective than that favored by Obama and Hillary.

Swept Under the Rug for Decades

The festering, neglected and unspoken problems of the epic divide, including the controversy over abortion, have been brewing now for decades. These issues have been skillfully skirted by politicians and have been side-stepped by American voters, in a well-intentioned effort at tolerance, an effort aimed at absorbing all views into our American melting pot of freedom and protected human rights. The most important issues, which are the moral issues, were long labeled “social” issues, and were swept under the rug, with varying success, until the 2016 Presidential debates.

And therein lies a possible clue to our big divide—reasonable people rarely go ballistic over mundane issues. However, morality, and it’s definition, IS something that both sides of America can get passionate about.

Despite everyone’s desire to tolerate and to include all Americans in our melting pot, problems surface as our population diversifies, as our morality shifts, and as we pass more and more new laws. The problem boils down to the fact that not all human philosophies, beliefs, or religions are compatible, and in our American melting pot these incompatibilities surface, causing inevitable conflict time and again. The definition of what is good and what is evil is not uniform in all societies, and needs to be defined by the entire nation, if evil is to be contained.

Defining Good and Evil

When regulating and protecting human interactions by law, determining what is right or wrong, or defining a person’s “rights” becomes complicated. The “rights” of one person can infringe on the “rights” of another person, and as a society we are forced to choose which “rights” trump which “rights.”

Abortion is one primary place where “rights” of citizens can clash. In abortion, however hard as it might be to imagine that the rights of a child and those of the mother could possibly not be aligned, progressives do insist that the well-being of a mother could be damaged by the existence of a child, and they advocate favoring “rights” for the mother over “rights” for the child.

Another example where the “rights” of citizens can clash is in the treatment of those who have broken the law. The rights of people to be protected from crime must be balanced with the rights of an incarcerated person to be treated decently. Also, the definition of decent treatment, which has to be paid for by the tax payer, is an area of potential disagreement. For example, taxpayers who cannot afford college for their own children could resent paying for college educations for prisoners.

Which brings up the question of defining “rights” altogether. Is a free college tuition a “right?” Does our nation have the budget to provide that? Does going into debt to pay for such “essentials” not steal from future citizens who will have to pay the bills we incur? If free contraception becomes a “right”under ObamaCare, why is free Tylenol not a “right?” Does free food or free housing then become a “right?”

Obviously, rights, and the definition of good and evil become very complicated.
And government gets the job of passing laws to balance those rights fairly, and to enforce the laws that were passed.

Defining Rights

Defining rights to intangible things is easier than tangible things.
We can say a person has a right life – to not being killed.
To liberty – to not being locked up.

To the pursuit of happiness – to choose their path in life.

But defining the right to tangible things is much more dangerous ground, because somebody has to actually pay for the thing that we declared everyone has a “right” to.

Finally, the amount of material things we can have varies tremendously, and depends on what is available. During a war, people ration and semi-starve, and may do it willingly. During a natural disaster, same thing. And people with an unrealistic grasp of economy cannot go around passing laws about what everyone has a “right” to have, if there is simply not enough to go around.

Pie offers a good simplistic example.
One can say that everyone deserves a slice of pie.
But if there is not enough pie, what happens then?

We have to redefine how much pie each person “deserves,” or has a right to.
In this life, there is not always enough of everything to go around, and if you throw away the right of ownership of property, and allow anyone who feels deprived, or feels envy, to demand what belongs to others, you have chaos.

Let the Rich Pay!!

The left frequently advocates shaking down the rich for funds, like the recent story put out by the World Economic Forum about the 8 richest men in the world who own as much as the poorest half of the world (that would be 3.6 billion of us).  A shocking statistic, for sure, but, sadly, this incompetent (or intentionally misleading) reporting would provide NO SOLUTION to the world economic situation, even if we were to repossess all their wealth, send all 8 to Siberia, and divide up all their wealth among the 3.6 billion poorest.

Why? Because, IF the claim is true and is not FAKE NEWS, then the total net worth of the 8 men, $427 billion, divided by the poorest half, 3.6 billion, equals a grand total of $119 per person.  After which the billionaires would be gone, and we would have nobody to fleece next year.

And the jobs they create would be gone, too.
Not mentioned is also the fact that most of these 8 people are Progressives, so why all the hate for conservatives?!?!
AND, the fact the the median American household income, $55,775, would cover 469 poor people if we took this approach.

Nobody mentions that the number of poor in the world is so great, and the number of super-rich is so small, that the rich do not have enough to pay for what progressives want.  To pay for what progressives want, the whole world would have to produce more money, and we would have to fleece not only Bill Gates, the #1 richest guy, but you and me and the Americans receiving unemployment checks as well.

Bottom line, we have to be careful about what we define as a “right,” and if we do, we have to indicate who is responsible for providing that right, particularly if that right involves a material thing.

Balancing People’s Rights

The simplest solution to this balancing act – to the balancing of rights of one citizen against the rights of another citizen, and declaring what is or is not a right—has been provided in the past by religion.
Religion outlined what rights a person had, what infringed on those rights, and what remedies were appropriate when those rights were violated.
The Declaration of Independence of the United States refers to God-given rights which the colonies felt were being violated by the English monarchy, and which colonialists wanted to guarantee for every future American citizen. Those God-given rights included life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

When it comes to defining good and evil, most people in this country used to acknowledge the Ten Commandments, which are actually the foundation and basis of most European and American law.
The moral beliefs of citizens, primarily those of Christian and Jewish citizens, since they were the most numerous, these moral beliefs stemming from their millennia of religious background, were incorporated into the Constitution of the United States and were voted into law via democratic process.

Religion Versus Self as the Boss

But religion has suffered decline in the United States since the 1950’s.
The Ten Commandments went out the window, one after another.

Despite the fact that 90% of Americans still say they believe in God, and 80% say they pray and they feel that their prayers are answered, many Americans have shifted in their definitions of what is right and wrong. They have shifted from looking to religion for guidance on these issues, to looking inwardly to their own thoughts to define what is right and what is wrong. The word for this is relativism. What is right for you may not me right for me, and I have a “right” to decide what is right for me.

One of the problems with looking to ourselves to define what is right or wrong is that most people are not experts in logic, and are very gullible to the first argument they come across that argues a seemingly convenient particular point. They do not realize that a convincing argument can be made for ANY position and for ALL positions, and that some people spend their lives becoming experts in debate, in law, in ethics, and in morality. Yet, despite all this training, the tendency of the human mind is to choose first what we want, then to find the logical construct that justifies what we want. Very few people truly seek truth and fairness, even when that represents a loss of what they wanted for themselves. Simply stated, our minds play tricks on us, and we seek the argument that gives us what we want, fair or not.

Another problem with looking to ourselves to define what is right or wrong is that it is not wise to assume that I myself am more intelligent, capable and informed than the best minds of history, and, if one concedes that there might be a God, that I myself am more intelligent, capable and informed than God Himself. So the very progressives who respect and deify many medical, legal, engineering and scientific experts, and who would not dream of building a house, curing their symptoms, or even making important life decisions without consulting an “expert,” presume to know how to evaluate the rights of all human beings, and to declare what is right and wrong, based on their own instincts and feelings, without training of any kind.

The Essence of the Divide

It makes a great deal of sense to point out that the most fundamental difference between the right and the left, the item that contributes most seriously to the epic national divide, is the disagreement on whether religion, the belief in a bigger super-power, or ourselves are boss.

And before the Freedom From Religion – Religion is Medieval – Only Stupid Weak People Need Religion mantra kicks in here, please consider the fact that IF the more religious half (or 80%) of America happens to be right, and there IS a God, and He HAS interacted with humanity and given us some guidelines (such as the Ten Commandments), the idea of following the guidelines of an infinitely vaster intelligence than ours, and of an infinitely kinder heart than ours, might just be a good idea.

An additional point on the Ten Commandments—even in the absence of an all-good and all-intelligent God, there is something to be said for the cumulative wisdom of ages of human beings and societies who have survived by those tried and tested rules for millennia to this day. It would take quite the ego to dismiss the cumulative wisdom of history and presume that I myself have the genius to dismiss and to better the wisdom of humanity with all its faults to date.

So Here Comes the Conservative Spin?

This is NOT an attempt to judge those who are not religious, because those who look inward for the definition of moral values might certainly be very sincere. We are trying not to judge, but to point out the shift in values in the United States that has occurred since around 1950.
And yes, this author IS conservative and religious, but is also trying to work towards communication via reason and with good will.
If nothing else, my writing will help progressives understand the thought processes that operate in the mind of one conservative, and realize that conservatives do not deserve the hateful pigeon-holing they have been subjected to following Election 2016.

People on both sides should find this analysis interesting.
There are religious people on both sides of these issues.
Some of the most ardent progressives claim to be religious – Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Al Sharpton, and others.
So read on, and consider what is being proposed.

Difference Chart

Let’s document some of the differences in beliefs that have surfaced in much of our nation in recent decades:
(Please indulge the introduction of the Ten Commandments to make this point.)

  1. I am the LORD your God: you shall not have strange Gods before me.

God is no longer the overriding value superseding all others today.
Many try to ban all mention of God from public life.
The highest value, the top “god” today, is probably MONEY (in Ten Commandments language, the golden calf).

  1. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.

Cursing God is now fine. In fact, much of Hollywood glorifies blasphemy, and even the expression “Jesus Christ” is often used as a curse word.
(I personally apologize to God every time I hear someone use the phrase disrespectfully, and I bow my head every time it is used appropriately.)

  1. Remember to keep holy the LORD’S Day.

Sunday or the Sabbath is no longer holy, nor is Christmas, Easter, etc. For many, shopping has become a higher priority than attendance at Church

  1. Honor your father and your mother.

Government has started to take over the role of father and mother, for example, with Common Core teaching values to children that are in direct conflict with most Christian religions. Government is trying to legislate how our children are to be raised. Many children have no respect for their parents, and even strike them.

  1. You shall not kill.

Over 1 million babies are aborted (killed) in the United States each year, and we came very close to electing a woman who supports partial birth abortion, the killing of a full-term baby half-way during birth. Abortion may be a much bigger deal than you think. We are working on legalizing euthanasia, and we are routinely pardoning, tolerating, and releasing numerous violent criminals, particularly if they represent votes.

  1. You shall not commit adultery.

Marriage has suffered much, and many citizens no longer value chastity before marriage. Adultery, and any form of sexual transgression is considered to be fine, as long as both adults are willing. Recently, prostitution by underage children has been decriminalized in California. This cripples the efforts of law enforcement to convict pimps who manage child prostitution, because then the children cannot testify against the pimps.

  1. You shall not steal.

Property crime is no longer prosecuted in San Francisco. Stealing is often excused and even justified. Government taxation is headed toward stealing as well – demanding larger and larger taxation “rights” on the income of citizens. The right to ownership of property is very much in question.
Some don’t realize that there was a time in the United States when there was no taxation at all.

  1. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Lying is no longer considered shameful, but is celebrated by funny and popular TV shows like Seinfeld. Fake News is widespread and seriously maligns many people. Politicians are re-elected by American voters, even following the exposure of numerous lies and manipulations. Truth, which used to be highly valued and venerated, is now discarded and almost despised. See What is Truth? Does Truth Matter? for an interesting analysis of why Truth might be important, after all.

  1. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.

Your neighbor’s wife is not off limits, provided you both agree to the liaison. Everybody tries to dress and look “hot,” and there is no attempt whatsoever in fashion to avoid being sexually provocative.

10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.

Today, covet away!
Most people don’t even know what the word “covet” means.
Hating those who have more than you and automatically labeling them as evil is common. Glorying in the idea of punishing the rich is very popular, and dismisses realities, such as the fact that the combined total assets of all the rich are not enough to impact the quality of life of the masses, and that the rich actually provide many jobs for the poor. Enjoying the idea of punishing the rich even if it does not help you is a serious form of envy.

What Do the Ten Commandments Have to Do With Anything?

Both the Ten Commandments and the Constitution of the United States, which was written by Christians, reflect a Judeo-Christian worldview. For years, the Ten Commandments have been displayed in courtrooms across the United States.

In recent decades we have been passing laws which drift away from that view, and we have been decriminalizing various activities that were previously considered illegal.
These changes have been driven by seeming compassion, and by the drifting away from religious values that has occurred in the United States. The unfortunate result of the drift is that our system of laws now represents a mass of internal contradictions, which require a highly trained lawyer to manipulate, and justice is not always served. The courts can even become a game of manipulation, deception and farce.

At this point we also have people who resent the still obvious Judeo-Christian roots of our Constitution and of our system of laws. The Freedom From Religion Foundation is a testimony to that. Yet the Freedom From Religion Foundation, despite claiming to reject religion, simply promotes religion of a different kind.  Every Christmas the Freedom From Religion Foundation places a plaque at the Wisconsin State Capitol which celebrates the Winter Solstice – a pagan religious celebration. Pagan beliefs are being substituted for Christian beliefs, in the name of eliminating religion.

Some might say that religion should be done away with, but those are unaware that religion is actually a belief system or worldview, and ALL of us have belief systems, whether we have given them a name or not. Even the most progressive atheists evolve a system of beliefs that become as passionate as any religious group, including abortion rights, global warming, and other progressive doctrines that are imposed by ridicule and by force.

Alternative Value Systems

If we were to abandon Judeo-Christian principles and rewrite the Constitution, something that some progressive leaders and Justices are already advocating, it would be hard to create a value system that is internally consistent and does not contain contradictions– contradictions which lead to chaos.

Adopting other common philosophies, such as Atheism, or Islam, would inflame the sensibilities of numerous Americans who still hold fundamental Judeo-Christian beliefs. And it is not trivial to come up with a new system of beliefs with no internal contradictions and with a consistent logical message.

Atheism is not compatible with the Judeo-Christian worldview. In the Judeo-Christian world, God has placed limits on all people, including leaders and powerful people. A king cannot take the property or the wife of another. The leader is accountable to God for his/her actions, and is expected to observe the rules of justice. The Christian worldview values human life above all, and the taking of innocent human life is not permitted, even if the goals are desirable. Even kings must justify the taking of human life according to specific criteria.
Atheism, in contrast to Christianity, places no limits on the power of leaders or of individuals. Atheism frees leaders to impose their will on the nation without justification. Under atheism, the ends justify the means. If the government feels it can accomplish some good by sacrificing me and my family, it is free to do so. My Lithuanian grandparents were sent to Siberia by the atheist/communist Soviet Union, upon its occupation of Lithuania, and they had done absolutely nothing wrong. They were declared to be “capitalists” because they owned a 1-acre farm, one cow and a sewing machine, their possessions were taken away from them, and they were sent to Siberia.

Sharia Law is also incompatible with the Judeo-Christian world view, and with the Constitution of the United States. Sharia law does not acknowledge inviolable human rights for family members, and permits severe corporal punishment, including punishment to the point of death, by the heads of families.

Under Sharia law, there are no limits on the power of heads of families, religious leaders, and heads of state.

The New Morality

A new (experimental) morality has been creeping into our nation, one law at a time, and supplanting the Judeo-Christian values we used to have, without internal consistency. It has not been well planned, is not systematic, or even internally consistent on any new modern moral plane.

For example, the killing of a fetus/baby is permitted even after partial birth, but the killing of a pregnant woman counts as TWO killings by law. Can the murder of a human being, and the jail term of a killer, truly be dependent on what that woman was thinking? Was she walking home or to Planned Parenthood for an abortion? Can the number of crimes committed by a killer be determined by the thoughts that were going through the murdered woman’s mind? Can a murderer go to jail for the same action for which the abortionist is extolled?

Consider another example, sex with underage children, which is, understandably, a crime. Yet teachers are required to illustrate condom use to young children in classrooms, and the very children who are taught to be “Healthy, Happy and Hot” in their classrooms, become felons when one of the young couple turns 18 and becomes guilty of statutory rape of their younger girlfriend or boyfriend. Our sexual standards impose many confusing inconsistencies on young people today.

Numerous such inconsistencies exist in our new and jumbled morality, and many conservative Americans object to the newly introduced (experimental) morality, and have concluded that the experiment has failed.

Science Takes a Back Seat to the New Experimental Morality

As the failings and drawbacks of the new experimental morality surface, those who want that new morality very badly simply ignore truth and science, they sweep the damage done to other people under the rug, and they make sure that facts and science take a back seat to their progressive agenda.

The progressive leadership of our country has misquoted and swept science under the rug habitually, as problems with the new morality surface.

Government-sponsored sex education does not educate children about the data on sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), misleads children into thinking that a condom will take care of everything, and fails to tell children that in 2011 the United States Center for Disease Control pointed out on their website that abstinence is the best form of prevention for STDs (this important fact has since even been removed from the CDC website).

Hiding the Truth

President Obama, a big sponsor of the new morality, withheld release of the results of a government-sponsored survey on abstinence, the results of which did not support Obama’s progressive agenda. The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) performed a study (National Survey of Adolescents and Their Parents) which showed that 70% of parents and 60% of teens favor abstinence before marriage. The study was ready for publication on Feb 26, 2009, but the Obama administration delayed its release for 1-½ years, until August 23, 2010.

The study results were theb released very quietly, and were later buried deeper on the HHS website, in such a way that searching obvious phrases such as “abstinence” did not call up the study, and a knowledge of the study title or project number was needed to access the study. Finally, a warning is posted for those who have succeeded in tracking down the study: This is a historical document. Use for research and reference purposes only.

Yes, the government feels it must clarify that the document is historical, lest it be used to formulate current policy. By no means can we acknowledge that most of America disagrees with the progressive government’s promiscuous agenda for our children.

Where can we see the National Survey of Adolescents and Their Parents?

Back to the Divide

The two alternatives, Judeo-Christian morality, and self-invented modern morality, are in complete contradiction.

  • We cannot simultaneously allow abortion and declare abortion to be murder.
  • We cannot encourage sexual experimentation in children, then jail them as soon as they turn 18.
  • We cannot pass laws that punish Christian Churches for not placing adopted children with homosexual couples, and allow Christian Churches protection of their religious freedom and beliefs at the same time. (If Christian Churches believe that a healthy life for a child necessitates both a mother and a father, it is not the role of government to force Churches to place adoptive children in homosexual homes. If government wants such placement, government should run adoptive agencies. If homosexuals want such placement, homosexuals should run adoptive agencies. But the idea of government forcing Christian Churches how to direct their charities is a violation not only of religious freedom, but also of “separation of Church and State,” which goes both ways.)
  • We cannot give unlimited benefits to various groups of citizens, without considering whether we have the money to hand out, who is paying the bills, or whether the bills are NOT being paid.

(Most people do not have the time to do their own analysis, and media fails to do the analysis for us, but this author HAS done the analysis— spreading 100% of the wealth of the United States today would not solve our financial problems or poverty, and we would then still be faced with zero wealthy people to tax next year. Most of us are not aware of how few really wealthy people and how many poor people there are,)

  • We cannot brag that 98% of all published scientists support global warming, when the government makes sure that global warming opponents get no research funds, and therefore cannot publish.

We cannot cater simultaneously to all groups, when their beliefs on what is right and what is wrong are in direct conflict.
We cannot hand out more pie than there is.

Decision Making When Paths are Incompatible

We have to acknowledge that we can’t always have what we want, NOBODY can always have what they want, and sometimes my getting what I want can step on the toes of somebody else not getting what they want.

Decision mechanisms when people cannot all get what they want include:

  • Free-for-all fight, and the most powerful win (Anarchy, King of the Mountain, or Chaos)
  • An Authority Dictates (Dictatorship)
  • Democracy (We all vote)

My preference? Democracy.
Even when my (conservative) side was losing the battle, during the last 8 years of Obama administration, I respected the system and tolerated a government which violated my world view and my view of what is right and what is wrong.
I thought sadly that if I live in a country that rejects my values, I must put up with it, or move elsewhere. Or pray that my fellow citizens see the light, begin to see things my way, and vote to restore my worldview.
I became a blogger, and have spent the last decade trying to persuade people with reason of the validity of my beliefs.

Now the tide of public opinion has turned, and the conservatives must be given a chance at government.
And yes, I have heard that many say the popular vote has NOT given conservatives a majority mandate.

Yes, We All Know that Progressives Think the Election Was Stolen

Most are familiar with the issue of the popular vote versus the electoral votes.

Hillary Clinton got more popular votes, but Donald Trump won the election because he earned more electoral votes. The electoral votes allotted to each State do not correspond directly to the number of voters in that state, so in close elections it is possible for a candidate to win the popular vote, but not the electoral vote, nor the Presidency.

An important point needs to be made about the electoral system.
The founders of this country were actually wise in choosing the electoral college instead of the popular vote as the method for selection of the President.
They did not want the choice of President always to be decided by the largest, most populous State, with little regard for the smaller ones.

The structure of the Electoral College can be traced to the Centurial Assembly system of the Roman Republic, and is similar to that used by classical institutions. The Founding Fathers were well schooled in ancient history and its lessons. See the US Election Atlas for more details on the evolution of the Electoral College plan.
The concept can be simplified by example.
If the colonies wanted more rural, less populated States to join the union (and to provide food for the nation from their farms), they had to offer those States a guarantee that their rights would not be trampled and they would not be dominated by the States which were more populous and which had larger cities.
The same principle applies today—should the population of one State be able to dictate the fate of the the entire United States?
Hillary Clinton won California by such a large margin in 2016 ( 4.6 million votes) that her entire advantage came from just that one State. Should Californian values be permitted to steer the values of the entire United States?

No, even if Hillary did get 2-3 million more popular votes, the election was NOT stolen.
The electoral college system protects all of America from being dominated by one State – in the case of 2016, California.

Reasons Why Trump May Actually HAVE WON the Popular Vote

An added point about the popular vote:
Conservatives are just as unhappy about the closeness of the election as progressives are.
While progressives point out that Hillary won the popular vote by 2-3 million votes, conservatives point out that if we corrected the popular vote totals for frequently demonstrated massive voter fraud and for illegal immigrants with illegal voting cards, Hillary would have had at least 3 million fewer votes.

According to PEW Research, 24 million (one of every eight) voter registrations in the United States are no longer valid or are significantly inaccurate, more than 1.8 million deceased individuals are listed as voters, and 2.75 million people have registrations in more than one state. That’s almost 30 million votes that are very susceptible to potential fraud.

These figures, combined with the frequently documented voter fraud exercised by “community organizers” and practitioners of “Alinsky tactics” of the left, call into serious question the exact numbers of the 2016 popular vote.

Alinsky Tactics and the Left

It is well documented that Hillary Clinton was a student of Alinsky, and that Barack Obama taught Alinsky tactics in the past. And Alinskyk tactics are Satanist Saul Alinsky’s 13 rules for political warfare, which are described in a book that Alinsky dedicated to Lucifer (Satan).   Needless to say, Alinsky tactics violate all rules of fair Christian behavior, and they describe how a minority can fight, lie, manipulate, and finagle their way against the despised majority, which limits themselves to Judeo-Christian rules of behavior.

Hillary’s recent collection of scandals– Benghazi lies, security breeches to escape accountability for email communications, the Clinton Foundation traitorous pay-for-play allegations, which are being proven just 2 months after the election, as well as the unethical tactics used against Bernie Sanders—this documented track record of “Alinsky” (in Judeo-Christian language “immoral”) behavior on the part of the progressives in the Democrat Party, certainly make election fraud allegations towards the Democrat Party credible.

Although nobody claims that conservatives are free of any misdeeds, it is still more likely that people who support Judeo-Christian morality might have a lower incidence of illegal deceptive tactics than those who actively teach, advocate and employ Alinsky tactics and “community organizing.” Just this week, news surfaced of progressives plotting to disrupt President-Elect Donald Trump’s inauguration by deploying butyric acid at the National Press Club during what they call the “Deploraball” event scheduled for January 19th. These progressives were meeting at the Washington D.C. pizza place that was mentioned in the Hillary-Podesta emails.  Today, the news  holds more on shocking progressive tactics — progressives held a training camp on disrupting the inauguration and how to handle being arrested, and hundreds of the LGBT community held a dance party in the street outside Vice President-Elect Mike Pence’s home.  CNN has even gone so far as to point out that if Donald Trump were to be killed during the Inauguration, an Obama appointee would become President.  The right has never planned and executed such interference and disruption of progressive events, discussed the killing of a progressive opponent, or targeted progressives in their homes.

Why Can’t We Just Compromise?

Many of the most contentious issues today do not lend themselves to compromise.
Abortion, gay marriage, and sex education (chastity versus promiscuity) are examples of things that cannot go both ways.
A choice has to be made.

  • It is not possible to take both roads when you reach a fork, as Yogi Berra can attest.
  • We cannot aim for individual freedom and for governmental control of personal life and personal thought at the same time.
  • We cannot outlaw and allow abortion simultaneously.
  • We cannot both allow and forbid guns.
  • We cannot preserve traditional marriage and allow homosexual marriage at the same time.
  • We cannot respect religious freedom and require all doctors to perform abortions concurrently.
  • We cannot enforce immigration law and simultaneously have open borders.
  • We cannot build up military defense and reduce military defense at the same time.
  • We cannot base our Constitution and Bill of Rights on God-given rights, yet forbid the public mention of God and of religion.
  • We cannot respect Judeo-Christian values and delete Judeo-Christian values from our laws concurrently.
  • We cannot have a Supreme Court which decrees national law and policy without regard to the beliefs of the American population- most of the above mentioned issues have involved decrees by Supreme Court and by Executive Action which are in disagreement with the beliefs of most Americans.
  • We cannot have a Democratic Republic in which elected Representatives of the people do not represent the wishes of the people and in which politically appointed Supreme Court Justices overrule the will and the religious beliefs of the people.

This is why some advocate leaving these most difficult issues to the States, so that, for example, a progressive State such as California could allow progressive policies, and both liberals and conservatives could live in States which offered the policies that are most important to them.

The idea that the Federal government should not control issues that Americans struggle to agree on is one that Trump has been proposing. On these issues, local control would be local.

Think, dear progressive co-Americans—wouldn’t it be great if we could make room in America for both sides of the ethical and political spectrum?

In Trump’s language, that would be HUGE!

What is the Left So Afraid to Lose?

What are the main issues that the left to panic when considering a conservative or a Trump Presidency?

  • Abortion?
  • Gay Marriage?
  • Welfare?

The Worst Case Scenario and the Most Likely Outcome

Abortion: There is little danger of abortion becoming unavailable in the United States.

I must honestly admit that I would like it if we were forbidden by law to kill inconvenient unborn infants the same as we are not permitted by law to kill inconvenient elders or spouses or children who have already been born.
But I also realize that we live in a democracy, and so long as so many Americans support abortion, abortion is not likely to go away.

The worst case scenario for progressives is that they may have to pay for their abortion themselves, instead of making me pay for it, which is against my ethics (It’s only fair– I have to pay for my own thyroid surgery and my own childbirth!).
They may have to shift to less permissive sexual behavior and more self control—something all of us should strive for constantly.
They may have to travel to a neighboring State for their abortion.

These might not be progressive first choices, but progressives must also realize that it is not the conservative first choice to pay for other people’s children to be aborted, particularly when a disproportionate number of those victims are minority babies.
It is also not the conservative first choice to live in a country where our children cannot be doctors, pharmacists or lawyers, because our Federal laws demand everyone in those professions to participate in abortion-related activities which are against our moral beliefs.

Whose right is more important—the right of a woman to enjoy unlimited sex, including premarital sex and promiscuous sex, or the right of a tiny human being not to be killed by his/her mother?

The job of the government is not to give progressives ALL their wishes, but to balance the rights of all citizens against each other in an ethical way.

We can’t always get what we want – progessives, OR conservatives.
And Christian doctrine always requires that the needs of the weakest be considered first – and who is smaller and weaker than an unborn child?

We appeal to progressives to realize that abortion is advocated only by people who have already been born. The unborn have no voice, other than the voice of conservatives.

Gay Marriage: There is little danger of homosexuality returning to the criminal status it previously held in this country decades ago.

The worst case scenario is that homosexual couples may be limited to civil unions, which do not threaten those of us who believe that marriage is central to the health and security of children and of our future society.
Progressives must realize that their wish for homosexual marriage has some unintended consequences on the rest of us. The moment we allowed homosexual marriage, Catholic adoption agencies had to close their doors, because the federal government requires them by law to do something their faith forbids: to place adoptive children with homosexual couples.
Whose rights are more important—gays to call their union “marriage,” or orphans to get free adoption services that the Catholic Church provides?
See Gay Marriage and Homosexuality for more ways in which the redefinition of marriage hurts the rights of Christian Americans.

Progressives need to realize that their wish to have homosexual unions be called “marriage” impacts the rights of conservative citizens not to have progressive doctrine forced on their Church charitable adoption programs, on public school sex education programs, and on bakeries which prefer not to bake cakes featuring images of homosexual unions.

Welfare: There is no danger of Social Security or Medicare being cancelled by conservatives.

The ObamaCare that is being repealed is a fiasco and failure, and WILL be replaced.

The worst case scenario is that some welfare programs will be streamlined to eliminate fraud and favoritism, and that more efforts will be made to offer jobs to those who are now dependent on welfare.

Two Last Words to the Left- Anarchy and Compassion

Word One about anarchy –

Of those who want to ignore the results of the 2016 election and attempt to delegitimize President-Elect Trump, we ask – what does Anarchy accomplish?

In what ways does the use of Alinsky Tactics such as riots, property damage and butyric acid terrorism accomplish anything?
What is your desired result?

Do progressives think that the Inauguration will be cancelled?
Do they think that Hillary will be given the Presidency?
By what mechanism could that be done?
Even if that was done, is Hillary’s moral history anything to pin our hopes on?

If the progressive goal is to weaken President Trump, so that he would make less progress on the progressive action items we’ve mentioned above, do progressives not realize that a weakened President and administration will not only be weak on abortion, but also in every other area, including our economy and our safety from terrorism? Do you really want to sink the ship you are sitting in?

Word Two about compassion –

Progessives are very admirable in their stated compassion.
But consider the opposite of compassion – heartlessness.

Do progressives not realize that some of their priorities are only compassionate towards one set of people, and only compassionate on the surface?
That some of their priorities become very heartless when the needs and rights of another group of citizens is considered?
Compassion towards a pregnant woman can also be heartless cruelty towards her partially born baby?

All Americans, progressive and conservative want to be compassionate.
We pick different issues on which our compassion focuses, depending our life experience.
We can’t always get what we want, and we can’t be compassionate to all at the same time.
The wishes of citizens and prisoners are opposed to each other and need to be balanced.
The wishes of Christians and Atheists are opposed to each other and need to be balanced.
The wishes of men and women are different, and need to be balanced.
The needs of parents and of children, as well as of teachers, need to be balanced.
Isn’t it time to start realizing that we all intend good, we are all compassionate, and we all have different perspectives that need to have a chance to be tried and to be heard?

Isn’t It Time?

The Constitution of the United States has set up a framework for this balancing exercise to take place, and has served us reasonably well for centuries.
It is time for progressives to accept a temporary correction and to allow conservatives to have a hand in the game.

Let us all root for each other, pray for each other and, above all, pray for the new President of the United State, Donald Trump.

For the anti-Trumpers, you can always pray for your enemies- prayer helps everyone concerned.

One of the best attributes of conservatives is that they do not have to resort to butyric acid, but can pray.

It’s now time to give conservatives a chance.

Trump Fear

Trump Fear

Flood of Tears

The virtual flood of tears, fears and laments poured out by liberals since the election of Donald Trump cries out for reassurance.

slide1

Here is some input for all my liberal friends from a friendly opponent.

Some Parallels

Just as Obama’s 8 years did not turn America into a Christian-hating and unborn baby slaughtering hate haven, so too Trump’s years will not turn America into a woman-hating or LGBTQ-hating or non-white-hating hate haven.

Some Sympathy

I really DO feel for you — you are expressing feelings that conservatives have felt for a long time under progressive “rule.” Particularly feeling “forbidden” to express our views publicly, in my case, even afraid to have a frank political conversation in a restaurant!

xxx

Two Things to Remember

But I want to point out two things.

One is that most conservatives are NOT like the fringe you fear.
That is a thought that saved me during Obama’s two administrations. Most liberals are NOT like the radical fringe of progressives that I would be very tempted to attack and to ridicule, but have pretty successfully restrained myself so far.

The other is related to restraining ourselves.
Radical extreme action on the part of any American, conservative or liberal, only serves to alienate the rest of America, not to persuade them.
It does one’s cause no good.

It’s All Goodslide1

So the idea that most Americans are in the middle, and that most Americans are reasonable people, both on the right and on the left, plus the idea that if you find yourself in a political minority you only damage yourself by getting too in-your-face, may help liberals survive what is to come and to avoid subjecting themselves to excessive and unrealistic anxieties.

America has prospered so far by taking turns and making corrections in both directions when one group takes the nation a bit too far, and we will continue to do so.

We Survived, and You Will Survive

Chill, friends.
You will survive.
It’s our turn, and you can be sure we will be nice.
For both groups, liberals and conservatives, you can’t always get what you want.

Show Us a Bit of Your Tolerance

And just as you don’t want us to view all liberals as baby-slaughterers and Christian-haters, please do not view all conservatives as intolerant bigots.

Give Peace (and The Donald) a Chance

Please also realize that Donald Trump is not an intolerant bigot, despite the liberal medias attempts to spin him that way.
God Bless AmericaMany people across the political spectrum are not sure where Donald Trump is headed– he has a very mixed history.
We have elected him, it’s now time to support him, and time will show us what we will get.

If you do your best to take him down, all of America, and that includes YOU, is coming down with him.

#1 Job on Both Sides of the Aisle

Pray for Success – for America and for Donald Trump.
The beauty of prayer is that you can pray both for those you support and those you are afraid to support.
